As of 2013, St Lucia had 11 parishes most of which have been there as far as we can remember walking or going the Sunday school with our parents.My work as a photographer is to tell stories, and through this project I hope I can captivate and intrigue your mind with some fascinating facts which can hardly be found anywhere else. This is a documentary style photography story which I hope will delight you, not just by the photos but to also educate you on the history and stories behind the Catholic Churches in St Lucia.

The Roman Catholic church started expanding very early in St Lucia as far back as the 1800’s, building churches and schools all over the island. St Lucia is predominately Catholic with churches in mostly every parish and district. As of 2013, St Lucia had 11 parishes, namely Anse la Raye, Castries, Choiseul, Dauphin, Dennery, Gros Islet, Laborie, Micoud, Praslin, Soufrière and Vieux Fort.This book tells the story of how far back it all started, the struggles and the involvement of the communities which it benefited. The key players in the development and dedication of popularising the Catholic church are well documented in this book.
